The mobile network is becoming the most important thing in a person’s daily living- it is virtually replacing all the other sectors of the telecommunication industry.
AT&T is expanding its television service to iphones and smart phones. The customers are going to be able to link this service to their ipads, computers or other devices as soon as AT&T reaches content deals for each. This means that everyone would be capable of watching movies or tv shows through the mobile network instead of using satellite or cable tv.
The television sector (satellite and cable tv), with this new competitor, is going to face a major impact on its trend, because of this new alternate technology that has been recently introduced to the telecom market. The mobile network sector, now with this new feature, has enormous possibilities of increasing its trend.
The mobile network has been presenting a rapid growth since a past few years. Now they offer even more utilities as they are expanding themselves to different sectors of the telecommunications. Today, people feel the need to be always connected, and cell phones are the ones that are fulfilling this need. So the possibilities of this sector's trend to fall are relatively low.

It is definitely interesting to watch what is going on with traditional subscription TV. It seems as if satellite and cable TV is going the way of CDs - some people still want the whole package but overall prefer the accessibility and variety that is offered digitally. It will be interesting to see if that industry will be able to survive or if it will be taken over by the web or mobile phone industry.
ReplyDeleteLooking at current trends, everything is about mobility in the wireless world. Everyone wants their media to move with them. More and more we are seeing electronics advertised by how many different types of media can be accessed through a singular device. The traditional TV is looking like the CD player nowadays. It's bulky and serves only one purpose. Sure, the quality may be better, but the busy consumer would take convenience over that any day.
Decent job taking a somewhat specific article and drawing a wider trend from it, Claudio. Your comment, Savannah, is an excellent example of the non-fluffy comments we're hoping to see from everyone each week. Good work!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing i have to say is i totally agree with the statement you said "The mobile network is becoming the most important thing in a person’s daily living". It is so true, that when a person loses a phone or the phone is dead because lack of battery; the person will think he/she is lost. And that there is something wrong.
ReplyDeleteI my self need to have my blackberry with me at all times. I also bought an extra battery and battery charger in my car just incase it turns off. I don't necessarily think its a good thing, but its something we got use to and cant let it go.
This summer i took some classes for computers. The classes were sometimes the time when the world cup soccer match started. So my friend in class would bring his iphone and we would watch the soccer match. I think big companies will lose lots of money when the service is fully set and people start using it.
