In 2007 Apple Inc., a company that was focused on the IT industry, emerged into the telecommunication industry. They developed a phone called Iphone that gathered most of the features of the other phones available in the market in a single device. This new article of Apple also offered a new way of exploring the internet through a cell phone. In the same year they also developed Apple Tv, a system that synchronized Itunes, their media player, with any tv. This new system opened the door to a whole new way of watching television, and listening to music or podcasts.
It is not beyond common knowledge that the Iphone is one of the prefered objects in todays world. Modern society is each time trying to make things more handy and simple, making the Iphone a very appealing device. Apple with their high competitive standards has clearly changed the landscape of the telecom industry. Everytime they launch a new generation of this phones the people make ridiculous lines to get them and many times they are sold out instantaniously. With the Apple Tv’s alternative way of viewing media they also created a considerable level of competition with brands as Blockbuster and cable-tv companies. Apple Inc.’s trend has been rising from this past five years so it not wrong to assume that their appearance in the industry have provoked huge impacts.

While you provide several great points, I'm not sure I would go as far to say that Apple emerged into the telecommunication industry. Certainly they took a huge leap venturing into the mobile phone market back in 2007, yet we should note they are not providing service for that phone. Apple and AT&T have maintained a close partnership and have managed to keep the phone exclusive to one carrier domestically. Apple TV has also been a regarded as a disappointment overall. There was simply so much competition that made it nearly impossible to compete with the provider's set top box. Apple was at a disadvantage because again they had to rely on the cable provider or their device was useless without an internet connection. You would be hard pressed to find someone who would disagree with the fact that Apple certainly is broadening its reach to other areas, yet I still feel they will always remain out of the telecommunication industry and will stick to consumer electronics, an area they know best.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that Apple is a new company in the telecommunications industry. Apple Inc. began in the 1970's as simply a computer company, but more recently have broken into the indsutry with the release of the iPhone and the iPad. The iPhone and the iPad allow interaction between users through internet access that is included with the products. Although the iPhone is exclusive to AT&T, it still created quite a change in the telecommunications industry. Also, the iPad has inspired many companies (Samsung, Dell, just to name a couple) to design a product to compete with the iPad. There is no denying that the release of these products by Apple Inc. has changed the industry.
ReplyDeleteApple has taken people's mind in a very crazy way. there is a known saying " when you go mac you never go back". It went to this point that people started converting from Microsoft to apple. Its like a disease for so many people i know. They have converted to mac, i am saying converted because i always hear people say converted. Its lke they have discovered a new religion. A person doesnt convert to another religion unless he/she thinks the religion is bad or the other one is better. So in this case so many people are converting to the better and to which they think can suit them well.
ReplyDeleteIt started with the ipod, then when they made a phone that has an ipod in it; it just made the crowd go crazy. I truly think apple soon will start to loose so much money. I think in this business world, right now in the graph Mac are at the highest point of the boost. They are at the top of the clip. Of course this is online what i think, and is my opinion.
